LEGO Game Boy: Initial Impressions
The details on the LEGO Game Boy (72046) are just what we expect to be as it is closely aligned with what we’ve already seen from LEGO and Nintendo’s official full reveal back in July.
Thanks to this full reveal, LEGO Nintendo fans can now have a close-up look at some of the very familiar features of the LEGO Game Boy set:

- Brick-built cartridges that actually feel like the real thing as you mount it at the back of the brick-built set.
Based on its official product page, this 421-piece set is pretty accurate for what’s likely to be a compact but highly detailed LEGO build.
- Price: $60
- Piece Count: 421 pieces
- Release Date: October 1, 2025

Where It Fits in LEGO’s Gaming Console Collection
The LEGO Game Boy set will join an impressive lineup of other video game system replicas, including:
LEGO Nintendo Entertainment System (71374) – a fan favorite from 2020
LEGO Atari 2600 (10306) – Packed with 2,532 pieces and nostalgic charm from 2022
LEGO Pac-Man Arcade Machine (10323) – Still available at Amazon for around $270
Although the NES and Atari sets have since sold out at most official LEGO Stores, they’ve become iconic collector’s items, and the LEGO Game Boy could follow suit. With its lower price point and smaller footprint, the set may be especially attractive to fans looking to start a retro LEGO display on a budget.
