LEGO Harry Potter BrickHeadz 2025: A Fellow Fan’s Take on These September Releases

Hey there, LEGO Harry Potter fans! As someone who’s been collecting BrickHeadz since the very first wave and has every Harry Potter set displayed proudly in my office, I’m absolutely buzzing about the upcoming LEGO Harry Potter BrickHeadz 2025 releases. After diving deep into all the official details and getting my hands on early images, I can tell you these September launches are going to be something really special.

Having followed the Harry Potter BrickHeadz line since it started, I can confidently say that the LEGO Harry Potter BrickHeadz 2025 wave represents some of the most ambitious character selections and creative building challenges we’ve seen yet. Here’s everything you need to know about both sets, plus my honest collector’s take on whether they’re worth your LEGO budget.

The Official Lineup: What’s Actually Coming September 1st

LEGO has officially revealed two fantastic LEGO Harry Potter BrickHeadz 2025 sets, and I have to say, they’ve made some really smart choices with both the characters and the pricing. Here’s what we’re getting:

The Goblet of Fire Figures (40791): A massive 5-character set featuring all four Triwizard Champions plus a Hungarian Horntail Dragon.

Luna Lovegood & Thestral Figures (40802): A charming 2-character set that brings some much-needed whimsy to the line.

Both sets launch on September 1st, 2025, and are already available for pre-order on LEGO.com. Trust me, based on how quickly some recent BrickHeadz waves have sold out, you don’t want to sleep on these.

LEGO Harry Potter BrickHeadz 2025 – The Goblet of Fire (40791): My Take on this Awesome Set

With 671 pieces and a $49.99 price tag, this is definitely the showstopper of the LEGO Harry Potter BrickHeadz 2025 releases. Here’s what you’re getting for your money:

Harry Potter – Complete with his Triwizard Tournament look and a broomstick accessory (perfect for the dragon task).

Cedric Diggory – Features the golden egg from the first task as his accessory.

Viktor Krum – The first-ever BrickHeadz version of the Bulgarian Seeker, complete with the Golden Snitch.

Fleur Delacour – Another BrickHeadz debut, holding a baby dragon element.

Hungarian Horntail Dragon – This is where it gets really interesting – a full BrickHeadz-style dragon build.

Why I’m Excited About This Set

As someone who’s built every BrickHeadz creature released so far (Hedwig, Buckbeak, etc.), I’m fascinated by how they’ve tackled the Hungarian Horntail. The unusual BrickHeadz model of the Hungarian Horntail dragon represents a real creative challenge – how do you capture a fearsome dragon in the typically cute BrickHeadz style?

The accessory choices are spot-on too. Harry the broom because that’s what he uses in the task against the dragon, Krum the Snitch because he plays a Seeker, Cedric the egg because retrieving that’s the goal of the task. These aren’t random accessoriesthey tell the story of the Triwizard Tournament.

Value Proposition

At $49.99 for 671 pieces, you’re getting about 7.4 cents per piece, which is actually pretty reasonable for a licensed BrickHeadz set. More importantly, you’re getting characters we’ve never seen in LEGO form before. Viktor Krum and Fleur Delacour are making their BrickHeadz debuts, and honestly, they might never get another chance in regular sets.

LEGO Harry Potter BrickHeadz 2025 – Luna Lovegood & Thestral (40802): The Perfect Smaller Set

At $19.99 for 292 pieces, this is the more accessible option in the LEGO Harry Potter BrickHeadz 2025 lineup, and it might actually be my personal favorite.

What Makes This Set Special

Luna’s BrickHeadz figure features her iconic quirky look, which we first saw in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Her brick-built outfit of her iconic pink cardigan is included, along with a blue bag stretching across her torso. The character also includes her bright, long blonde hair, along with a simple accessory of a red apple.

The Thestral is where this set really shines for me. The brick-built Thestral, a mystical skeletal horse-like creature only visible to those who have witnessed death, is one of the most unique LEGO BrickHeadz models in recent years. The Thestral is entirely black but with possibly glowing white eyes to represent its ghostly nature in BrickHeadz form.

Why Luna Works So Well in BrickHeadz Form

Luna Lovegood is honestly perfect for the BrickHeadz treatment. Her quirky, distinctive style translates beautifully to the blocky aesthetic. The fact that LEGO chose to give her the pink cardigan look rather than just school robes shows they really understand what makes the character special.

And can we talk about that apple accessory? It’s such a Luna touch – simple, sweet, and perfectly in character.

Pricing Analysis: Are These Sets Worth It?

Let me be straight with you about the LEGO Harry Potter BrickHeadz 2025 pricing:

The Goblet of Fire Figures (40791)

Luna Lovegood & Thestral (40802)

lego harry potter brickheadz 2025

Compared to previous BrickHeadz releases, these prices are pretty much in line with what we’ve come to expect. The Goblet of Fire set is definitely on the pricier side, but you’re getting five characters, including some real BrickHeadz firsts.

My honest recommendation? If you can only afford one, go with Luna & Thestral. It’s the better value per piece, and both characters are absolutely delightful. But if you’re a serious Harry Potter collector, the Goblet of Fire set is going to be the one everyone talks about.

Collector’s Corner: Investment & Display Potential

Based on my experience collecting BrickHeadz for years, here’s my take on the long-term prospects for these LEGO Harry Potter BrickHeadz 2025 sets:

Investment Potential

The Goblet of Fire set has strong investment potential for several reasons:

  • First appearances of Viktor Krum and Fleur Delacour in any LEGO format
  • Complex dragon build that won’t be easily replicated
  • Represents a specific movie moment that’s unlikely to be revisited

Luna & Thestral will probably have steadier, more modest appreciation. The characters are beloved, but the set size means it won’t be as rare.

Display Ideas That Actually Work

I’ve been experimenting with different ways to display my BrickHeadz collection, and here are some ideas specifically for these sets:

Tournament Display: Create a simple tournament arena backdrop using gray baseplates and some castle wall elements. Display the four champions in front with the dragon as the centerpiece.

Luna’s Corner: Set up a whimsical display area with some plants and magical elements. The Thestral looks amazing when positioned like it’s landing or taking off.

Character Progression: If you have the previous Harry Potter BrickHeadz (like the Prisoner of Azkaban set), arrange them chronologically to show the character development through the films.

Building Experience: What to Expect from the New LEGO Harry Potter BrickHeadz 2025 Release

Having built every major BrickHeadz release, I can tell you that the LEGO Harry Potter BrickHeadz 2025 sets are going to offer some unique building challenges:

The Hungarian Horntail is probably going to be the most complex BrickHeadz creature build yet. I’m really curious to see how they’ve handled the wings and the overall proportions.

Luna should be a delightful, relaxing build, perfect for a Sunday afternoon when you want something engaging but not overwhelming.

Both sets come with the standard BrickHeadz baseplates, so they’ll integrate perfectly with your existing collection.

Final Thoughts

The LEGO Harry Potter BrickHeadz 2025 releases represent everything I love about this intersection of themes – beloved characters, creative building challenges, and that perfect blend of display value and collectibility.

Luna & Thestral captures the whimsical magic that makes Harry Potter special, while the Goblet of Fire set gives us the epic tournament moments that define the fourth film. Whether you’re building them for display, collecting them as investments, or just enjoying them as a relaxing build experience, I think you’re going to love what LEGO has created here.

September 1st can’t come soon enough! I’ll be building these the moment they arrive and sharing my thoughts on the actual building experience.
